KTM launches its next-gen RC390 globally: check out the details

RC390 to hit Indian showrooms by the end of this year. The bike is way better than its predecessor bikes in look and feel and it is the flagship bike in the brand's sports bike lineup.

The Austrian motorcycle brand KTM has finally launched its new generation model RC390. Along with RC390, the company has also unveiled RC200 and RC125 bikes. RC390 is way better than its predecessor bikes in look and feel and it is the flagship bike in the brand's sports bike lineup.

RC390 to hit Indian showrooms by the end of this year, the bookings for the same have started unofficially started at some dealerships. Reportedly the production of KTM390 has begun at Bajaj Auto's Chakan manufacturing unit. KTM390 will have a single-piece pentagonal LED headlamp, which can double up as turn indicators when needed. The significant design update includes new body graphics, a muscular fuel tank, a revised tail section, and redesigned front fairing. The bike looks aerodynamic in nature with the presence of air vents on side panels.

The bike's ergonomics are to remain aggressive but more comfortable than previous models because of rear-set footpegs, a forward-leaning posture, and a low-set clip-on handlebar. RC390 has a new TFT instrument console that supports Bluetooth connectivity. RC390 runs on the same 373cc single-cylinder and, a liquid-cooled engine dispenses 44bhp. The makers have conjugated the engine with a 6-speed gearbox and bi-directional quick-shifter, and a slipper clutch. The Austrian bike will compete against Kawasaki Ninja 400, TVS Apache RR 310 and, the upcoming Benelli 302R.
