Chai Waale raised Rs 5 crore in funding from both new and existing investors. The list of angel investors includes Sunil Sethia, Manish Mardia, Sunil Kumar Singhvi, UNI-M Network, a Mumbai-based angel network, and celebrities like Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan. Also, some private organizations, such as the online trading platform of unlisted shares Unlisted Kart LLP, Chennai-based conscience multi-family office are among investors addition in the investor's lists. 

The Chennai-based Chai Waale will use the funding to promote the physical and strategic expansion of the firm throughout the city. The firm was founded in 2018 by Vidur Maheswari. The start-up has established a strong footing since the beginning in the mid-range beverage providers segment across Chennai. It has 20 outlets in strategic locations and customer-oriented service. 

Chai Wale is a range of specialty teas, including milk, black, herbal, and iced tea variants. Along with teas, it also serves savories such as sandwiches, noodles, poha, and khakhras. The venture has also added soups, momos, and a few new ranges of sandwiches to its menu and new flavors of ice tea, desserts, etc.
