Flipkart partners with Adani Group to strengthen the supply; infrastructure, logistics

As part of this association, Adani Logistics Limited will be constructing a 534,000 sq. ft. centre in Mumbai that they will lease to Flipkart to direct the growing demand for e-commerce in Western India and support the market.

On Monday, Flipkart announced a strategic alliance with the Adani Group. In a regulatory filing, Adani Group stated that the commercial partnership has been made to boost Flipkart’s supply chain infrastructure and further strengthen its ability to serve the rapidly expanding customer base. 

As part of this association, Adani Logistics Limited will be constructing a 534,000 sq. ft. centre in Mumbai that they will lease to Flipkart to direct the growing demand for e-commerce in Western India and support the market.

The centre is anticipated to be operational in the third quarter of 2022. It will have the capacity to accommodate 10 million units of sellers’ inventory.

Apart from backing Flipkart’s supply chain infrastructure, the facility will also enhance local employment and create approximately 2,500 job opportunities.

Gautam Adani, Chairman, Adani Group took to Twitter to share, "Homegrown e-commerce giant Flipkart is our new strategic partner. In the two-prong partnership, AdaniConneX will build their new Tier 4 data centre and Adani Logistics, India's leader in logistics, will build their 534,000 sqft fulfilment centre. Thousands of new jobs in Mumbai."
