IKEA to establish its first shopping centre in Gurgaon

The company has already purchased the plot at the said location for opening the mall. The estimated cost of this mega project is Rs 3500 crore.

The global furniture and home accessories brand IKEA is all set to launch its first shopping mall in India. The Ingka Centres part of Ingka Group has announced the plans for setting up this shopping centre in Gurgaon. The company has already purchased the plot at the said location for opening the mall. The estimated cost of this mega project is Rs 3500 crore. 

Reportedly, Peter Betzel, CEO and CSO, IKEA India has mentioned that for the brand India is an exciting country and its capital Delhi will be the biggest and most important market. The brand will be opening the IKEA store in Gurgaon in collaboration with Ingka Centres. It will be bringing affordable, stylish and sustainable home furnishing products for the customers in Delhi NCR and Gurgaon. 

Also, the Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal has lauded IKEA's plan of setting up the Gurgaon mall. He also mentioned that this newest shopping destination will be providing employment in the region by generating over 2500 jobs. The construction of IKEA's shopping mall will commence in early 2022.
