The supremo of Dharma Productions Karan Johar announced the launch of the Yash Johar Foundation, founded in the memory of his father.

The director shared a heartfelt video featuring many old photos of his dad with his industry colleagues. The short clip also states the objective of creating this foundation. The filmmaker has set up the foundation to help people from the Indian film industry. 

Sharing the video on the social media handles, Karan Johar said, "This has been a true labour of love, created in memory of my incredible father and to carry forward his legacy.  I am proud to launch the Yash Johar Foundation, which has been set up with the aim to improve the quality of life for people in the Indian entertainment industry.  While we have initiated the implementation of long-term sustainable plans that will enhance the lives of people and their families in the industry, we have also ensured that immediate solutions are being provided to help them deal with the effects of the ongoing global pandemic".

Looking at the current scenario, the production house is taking into consideration the effects and after-effects of Covid-19. They have initiated YJF Covid Response 2021 to address immediate needs such as food, shelter and medicines of those within the entertainment industry who have been negatively impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.

 The foundation will provide financial wellbeing, healthcare and educational and vocational training to people from the entertainment industry.
