Suriya's 'Soorarai Pottru' to be remade in Hindi, Sudha Kongara Prasad to direct the film

Suriya Sivakumar’s popular film 'Soorarai Pottru' is all set for a Hindi remake. The film will be helmed by the original director Sudha Kongara Prasad. The Hindi version will be backed by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment.

South superstar Suriya took to his Twitter profile to make a big announcement. The actor tweeted, "Excited to announce our association with @Abundantia_Ent lead by @vikramix for #SooraraiPottru in Hindi, Directed by #SudhaKongara."

As per reports, the cast of the film is yet to be revealed. The makers have not yet decided who will play Suriya’s role in the Hindi version. In a statement, Suriya said that the love and appreciation that Soorarai Pottru had received was unprecedented. From the minute he heard this story, he felt this has to be a pan India film. It gives him immense pleasure to partner with Abundantia Entertainment, who have always made quality content, to tell the inspiring story of Captain Gopinath in Hindi.

Meanwhile, the Tamil film, directed by Sudha Kongara starred Aparna Balamurali, Mohan Babu, Jackie Shroff, Karunas, Kali Venkat, and others in key roles.
