Indian Premier League: Three players who have earned more than Rs. 100 crore over the years in the tournament

As per the figures mentioned in InsideSport Moneyball, the top three players who have earned more than Rs.100 crore in IPL are Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. 

The 13th edition of Indian Premier League is on in full swing. It is the most popular T20 tournament as it garners a wide range of international cricketers. Although the competitive nature of the game has always been the motivational point, the big pay cheques are also one of the factors for players encouragement. This season Australian fast pacer Pat Cummins became the most expensive player with a sum of Rs 15.5 crore paid by Shah Rukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders. Cummins has been playing IPL since 2014, however, some players have been a part of the tournament longer and hence have drawn some big cheques.

MS Dhoni
Over the years, Dhoni has become the highest-paid player in the IPL with earnings of Rs 137.8 crore. He first joined Chennai Super Kings for Rs 6 crore. When CSK was serving a 2-year suspension captain cool has represented Rising Pune Supergiants. When CSK returned to the league, he joined them again for a fee of Rs 15 crores. 

Rohit Sharma
The second most successful skipper of IPL league Rohit Sharma has garnered Rs.131.6 crore in total. Rohit first started his IPL career back in 2008 with Deccan Chargers – a franchise which got dissolved over time. Initially, first three seasons Rohit played from DC. Later in 2011, he joined Mumbai Indians and was paid Rs 9.2 crore. He was paid a big amount of Rs 15 crores in IPL 2020.

Virat Kohli
In the 13 years of representing Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kohli has earned Rs 126.2 crore. In 2008 Virat was paid only Rs 12 lakh, however, in IPL 2020 he is the highest-paid player with a contract that Rs 17 crores.
