Indian-origin health expert Anil Soni designated the first CEO of WHO Foundation

Soni will take up his role as CEO on January 1, 2021. In the new role, Anil will manage the Foundation’s work to invest in innovative, evidence-based initiatives that support WHO in delivering on its mission to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all said the WHO Foundation in an official statement.

The World Health Organization Foundation has appointed Indian-origin health expert Anil Soni as its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to speak about the most vital health difficulties all across the world. The Foundation is an autonomous grant-making agency based out of Geneva in Switzerland and was founded in May 2020 to work alongside the WHO.

Earlier, Anil Soni has served as the Head of Global Infectious Diseases at Viatris which is a global healthcare company. WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has called him a ‘proven innovator’ in global health.
