Dailyhunt join hands with Hubhopper Studio, launches 'podcasts' section on app

The local language content platform, Dailyhunt has introduced a podcasts section on its app. It gives access to high-quality content in their preferred languages to its users. The news platform aims to evangelize podcasts in the Indian languages and as a first step, Dailyhunt has partnered with Hubhopper Studio, a podcast platform, to bring diverse and wide-ranging audio content to its users. The podcasts will be available in multiple Indian languages like Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Bangla, Gujarati, Marathi, and English. 

The partnership between Dailyhunt and Hubhopper brings over 10 million hours of audio content from popular voices like Sadhgurum, Sri Ravi Shankar and Smriti Notani. It spans across categories like religion and spirituality, self-help, comedy, health, TV and film, business and finance, sports, and others. Dailyhunt is also planning to bring more podcast creators on board to broaden the content base and give its users a variety of topics to select. 

Podcasts gained popularity as a medium of content and as per the reports India recorded a 29.3% increase in podcast consumption in the first year of the pandemic. Also, India is the third-largest consumer of podcasts as of 2020 with 57.6 million monthly listeners. Dailyhunt looking at the shift in the content preference hopes to meet the varying demands of its users and provide content that is relevant with high quality and in the local language of its users.
