Philips associates with Atul Khatri for stand-up comedy clip to raise awareness around sleep apnea

With the aim of focusing on creating awareness on sleep-health, Philips India today launched a special digital stand-up comedy video in association with the popular comedian Atul KhatriThe campaign has been devised to educate people about common sleep disorders.

Sleep is a feature of health that is often ignored and is subject to several myths. It is a basic human need for good health and well-being as it leads to improved brain function. However, the level of discussion in the public domain on sleep disorders is very less. As a consequence, they are many out there who suffer from serious disorders such as sleep apnea and are not even aware of it. 

It is a breathing-related sleep disorder in which breathing repeatedly gets interrupted or paused for long periods. It is identified by symptoms like loud snoring, excessive daytime sleepiness and irritability.

On World Sleep Day, Philips partnered with stand-up comedian Atul Khatri to create a stand-up act around how sleep apnea impacts the life of a sufferer. Atul shares a few relatable occurrences where he was mocked for his daytime sleepiness and snoring problem and how he eventually discovered new energy post his treatment for the disorder.
