There are many inspiring stories out there that have a significant impact on our lives. It teaches us how dedication can lead you towards success. The story of SP Anie is much inspiring. She is a single mother from Kerala, ran a lemonade stand to make a living, and struggled against all odds to become a police officer.
Anie is a resident of Kanjiramkulam in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram district. She got abandoned by her parents at the early age of 21 as she rebelled and got married; sooner or later, her husband also left with an eight-month-old son. Anie's parents refused to accept her and the kid. She then took shelter at her grandmother's place, focusing on raising her baby. Anie, though going through hardships, didn't compromise on her education. She completed her graduation and pursued post-graduation via distance learning.

Apart from education Anie, also had to look after the upbringing of her kid. She took up off jobs like selling insurance policies and becoming a door-to-door salesperson though she was not getting paid enough. Later she started to sell lemonade and ice cream at tourist places and at Varkala. Being a single mother Anie also had to face obstacles to find a house for rent as no owner wished to rent their place. Resolving this issue she adopted a 'boy cut' hairstyle, it saved her from unwanted attention and eased her to live and sleep anywhere.
Anie's father dreamed to see her daughter as an IPS officer. This led her to study hard for the exams and ended up becoming a civil police officer. After three years a relative of Anie's suggested writing the sub-inspectors examination and helped her financially with it. Anie successfully cleared the exam and began her sub-inspector training at the Police Academy in Thrissur. After a year and a half, Anie took the charge of Varkala police station as a probationary sub-inspector.
