Sathiyan Ganasekaran, the top seed player, grabbed the title of the Czech International table tennis tournament on Wednesday. He triumphed over Ukraine's Yevhen Pryschchepa by 4-0. The scores were 11-9, 11-6, 11-6, 14-12.

This win has come as a huge morale booster for Sathiyan after his loss at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and round 16 of the WTT contender tournament. Sharing his joy on Twitter, Sathiyan wrote, "BACK WITH A BANG Extremely happy to win the Men singles title at the 2021 ITTF Czech International open in a dominant way without dropping a set here at Olomouc The wait was worth it to lift my 3rd international ITTF title after a gap of 4 years".

Sathiyan currently is the world no. 39 and, his opponent's rank is 111. He was dominant throughout the match with backhand blocks, sidespin serves, forehand, and backhand counters. Learning by the mistakes he made in Olympics 2020, he reportedly said that the opponent always tries to come back to you, and you have to keep changing the strategy. He realised that Pryshchepan was changing his approach and was targeting Sathiyan. This time according to Sathiyan, he was playing aggressively, unlike his performance at Tokyo Olypics2020.
