Ronaldo sent the ball behind the goalkeeper in the 89th minute with a header against Ireland in a World Cup qualifier. The goal made by Ronaldo moved him ahead of former Iranian striker Ali Daei. Ronaldo had a special moment with the team, and also he made a new record of becoming the highest scorer in international football. Ronaldo and Daei are now only two players who have scored more than 100 goals for their country. Daei has scored 109 goals in 149 games for Iran from 1993-2006.

The 36-year-old Ronaldo has finalised his official return to Manchester United on Tuesday. Getting the legendary jersey number 7 back was not that simple for Ronaldo as Premier League rule stood in the way of the reunion. According to the rule of the Premier League, once the season is commenced, the shirt number cannot change.

Manchester United had to get a special dispensation from the Premier League board for changing the jersey number. The changes have never been granted before by the board. But the board had to relent the dispensation as Ronaldo has always been a trailblazer.
