India vs Australia: Virat Kohli breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s record to become the fastest cricketer to score 1200 ODI runs
Virat Kohli achieved the milestone in his 242nd inning and broke Sachin Tendulkar's record, who made his 12000th run in 300th inning.
On Wednesday, Indian captain Virat Kohli added one more feather to his cap. He became the fastest cricketer to score 12,000 runs in One-day International cricket. Kohli reached the mark during the third ODI against Australia in Canberra.
The 32-year-old batsman had scored 11,977 runs before in the previous game. Virat achieved the milestone in his 242nd inning and broke Sachin Tendulkar's record, who made his 12000th run in 300th inning. He is the second-highest scorer for India in ODIs after the Master Blaster's 18,426 runs from 463 ODIs.
The Indian skipper made his ODI debut in August 2008 against Sri Lanka and over the 12 years, he has hit 43 ODI centuries and 59 fifties. Recently, Kohli scored a half-century in the second ODI against Australia. He knocked 89 runs in India's chase of 390 runs.
