India Vs Sri Lanka tour: Shikhar Dhawan elected as captain; Sakariya, Padikkal, Rana among new picks 

On Thursday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India stated that the all-India Senior Selection Committee picked the Indian squad for the 3-match ODI series and the 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka scheduled in July.

Shikhar Dhawan has been elected as the captain for forthcoming India's tour of Sri Lanka set to start from July 13. The tour includes three ODIs and three T20Is. 

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been selected as the deputy captain. As several white-ball regulars will be away for the Test series in England during the period, the BCCI has called up domestic performers for the tour.

Devdutt Padikkal who is a Karnataka opener has been selected for the tour. Padikkal in the exuberant form in white-ball cricket in the domestic circuit as well as the IPL. Maharashtra and CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad has also been picked. 

Prithvi Shaw is also selected along with fast bowler Chetan Sakariya, who impressed us with their game in the Indian Premier League season. Kuldeep Yadav also has been named in the side alongside Yuzvendra Chahal. India has called in two wicketkeepers Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson.
