India wins three gold medals in World Archery Championship

Indian men's and women's teams won gold medals in compound cadet and mixed team events in the ongoing World Archery Youth Championship.

The Indian men's and women's teams won gold medals in compound cadet and mixed team events in the ongoing World Archery Youth Championship. Currently, the championship is taking place in Wroclaw. 

The Indian women's team consisted of Praneet Kaur, Riddhi Varshini, and Priya Gurjar. They defeated Turkey by 228-216 in the finals to win the gold medal. Men's teams comprising Sahil Chaudhary, Nitin Apar, and Kushal Dala have been successful in defeating the American team in an exciting match. The Indian men's team defeated the USA by 233-231. 

Two junior (U-18) world records were grabbed by the women's team and mixed team during the qualification stages of the championship. By scoring 2067/2160, Praneet Kaur and Ridhu Senthilkumar, and Priya Gurjar scored 696 for individual pole, setting the world record for the women's team by 22 points. Previously the USA was holding the world record with 2045/2160 points.
