Winning three gold Indian Archer Deepika Kumari heads to World no 1 Position

Indian archer Deepika Kumari wins three gold in world cup stage 3 and become the world no 1 archer in women's individual, women's team and mixed team.

Indian star archer Deepika Kumari holds world no 1 position in global ranking for recurve women by winning three gold back to back at the world cup Stage 3 in Paris on Sunday. Deepika Kumari achieved the top spot for the first time in 2012. By claiming gold medals in three recurve events women individual, women’s team and mixed team. First combining with Ankita Bhakat and Komalika Bari Deepika notched up the women’s recurve team gold by winning gold on Mexico being the opponent.

She also paired up her husband Atanu Das. They both put down Netherland’s Sjef van den Berg and Gabriela Schloesser 5-3 for gold medal. The Ranchi ranked 17th by putting Russian Elena Osipova 6-0 to cap a perfect three out of three, it was her fourth individual World Cup gold medal. Deepika Kumari overall won nine gold, 12 silver and seven bronze medals in the World Cup.

She have won all the three medals in a World Cup. She have improved as competitions are lined up ahead. Deepika will be the only Indian women archer representing the country at the Tokyo Olympics next month.
