Meet Reeth Rishya, first Indian woman to win table tennis pro tour in the singles category

Reeth Rishya also played her first-ever National table tennis this year.

India paddler Reeth Rishya wins her first-ever international pro tour by winning ITTF Ecuador Open 2021. To achieve the feat, Reeth defeated her Indian compatriot and Olympian Ankita Das by 4-2 in the finals.

With this win, Reeth has become the first Indian woman to win a pro tour in the singles category. Indian tennis star Sharath Kamal has mentored Reeth and, she has thanked him for guiding her. She also expressed her gratitude towards her coach, Aman Baglu, who was there with her throughout and helped her achieve the title. She reportedly thanked the players at her academy AV Sports Center, where she trains and practices.

Reeth Rishya also played her first-ever National table tennis this year, wherein she lost to her Indian Oil colleague Manika Batra. As she has won the pro tour, people's expectations will be high for future tournaments.
