Pro Kabaddi League set to return with season 8; auction to take place from 29th to 31st August

The Pro Kabaddi league is returning after nearly a gap of two years it will be a practicing experience for Indian and international players as the Asian games are happening next year.

The Pro Kabaddi league is returning after nearly a gap of two years. The sport Kabaddi was out of the picture for most of 2020 due to the pandemic. One could see Kabaddi only when the national championship happened in April 2021. The return of the Pro Kabaddi League will be a practicing experience for Indian and international players as the Asian games are happening next year.

In an Instagram post, the official account of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) announced the auction date for season 8. The auction for season 8 of PKL will take place from 29 August to 31 August.

The players available for auction will be Domestic, Overseas, and New Young Players. They are split into - A, B, C & D. Even within that, the players will be sub-divided into categories of 'Defenders', 'All-rounder' and 'Raiders'. The base price for each category is A- Rs. 30 Lakhs, B- Rs. 20 Lakhs, C- Rs. 10 Lakhs, and D- Rs. 6 Lakhs. Each Franchise can have a total of 4.4 crores for season 8 to spend on players. The teams are allowed to retain players of their choice from season 7 as per the policies. Mashal Sports, the organiser of the Pro Kabaddi League are planning to commence season 8 in December 2021.
