Saurav Ghosal becomes first Indian to win Malaysian Open squash championship

He outclassed the top seeder Rodriguez Miguel of Columbia by 11-7, 11-8 and 13-11.

Indian squash star Saurav Ghosal has made history as he became the first Indian to win the Malaysian Open Championships. To become the champion he defeated Miguel Rodriguez in the men's singles final.

Ghosal who is the second seeder is often regarded as the face of the Indian squash. He outclassed the top seeder Rodriguez Miguel of Columbia by 11-7, 11-8 and 13-11 to become the first from India to be crowned as the champion at the tournament.

Ghosal, who did not drop a single game during the title-winning run that was taking place in Kuala Lumpur, reportedly said that he feels great after winning the tournament as he defeated some good players along the way.

In the quarter-finals and pre-quarter-finals he crushed down L Serme and M Gamal to enter the semis. In the semi-finals, he got better of France's V Crouin and defeated him by 3-0 to reach the finals.
