Pooja Rani clinched in the quarter-finals in Olympics Games. The Indian boxer out-punched Ichrak Chaib, an Algerian boxer with a score of 5-0. Pooja Rani was in command with her right straights, and Chaib's lack of balance in the ring benefitted the Indian boxer immensely.

The three rounds of the game were a story of Rani's domination. It was the maiden appearance for both the boxer. The two-time Asian Champion played smartly by keeping her distance and giving a counter-attack on the opponent. It failed Chaib spectacularly in trying to hit Pooja with her wild swings missing the target area.

Pooja Rani Boora has won a bronze and a silver medal at the Asian Games in the 75kg category. She also holds a gold medal in South Asian Game 2016. In 2016 she failed to qualify in the Rio Olympics but have a great comeback by qualifying for the 2020 Olympics.
