The win against Japan is India's third consecutive in the Tokyo Olympics. Gurjant Singh, in the first quarter with a penalty corner, gave a 1-0 lead to the team. However, in the second quarter of the match, the coordination of Simranjeet Singh and Gurjant Singh made another goal for India leading 2-0.
