Tokyo Olympics: Bajrang Punia wins a bronze medal in the 65kg wrestling category

Bajrang Punia had an amazing comeback and made India proud by winning the bronze medal in 65kg freestyle wrestling.

India is again acing in the wrestling as Bajrang Punia has won a bronze medal in 65kg freestyle wrestling. He has become the sixth Indian wrestler to win an Olympic medal. Bajrang defeated Daulet Niyazbekov of Kazakhastan by 8-0 in the bout. 

Bajrang Punia, in his bout, played with some heavy moves and gained two points within a short clock, and continued scoring with his dominant performance. Kazakhastan's though tried to score a point but failed before the Indian wrestler. 

Bajrang Punia after the defeat against Iran's Morteza Ghasi made an amazing comeback and made India proud by winning the bronze medal after Ravi Kumar Dahiya winning silver in 57kg freestyle wrestling. Bajrang advanced in the quarter-final over Ernazar Akmataliev of Kyrgyzstan. The bout between both the wrestlers ended with a tie 3-3, but the Indian wrestler prevailed due to the criteria of a higher point-scoring move, a 2-pointer in the first period in 1/8 final.
