Tokyo Olympics: Indian wrestlers Ravi Kumar Dahiya, Deepak Punia qualifies for the semifinals

The Asian Championships gold medal winner, Ravi Kumar Dahiya, qualifies in semis of the Tokyo Olympics 2020. He won in the men's freestyle wrestling (57kg) category against Bulgaria's Valentinov Georgi Vangelov 14-4 by technical superiority. 

In the first round, Ravi Kumar defeated Valentinov by 6-2. The Bulgarian wrestler tried to counterattack in the second round and earned 2 points. Ravi Kumar resumed collecting points and concluded the match by extending the gap of 10 points. The Indian wrestler will be facing Kazakhstan's Nurislam Sanayev in the semifinal. 

Another Indian wrestler Deepak Punia booked his berth in the semifinal of the 86kg category of men's freestyle wrestling at Tokyo 2020, defeating Lin Zushen of China by 6-3. The Indian wrestler was in a spot of bother when he leveled up the points on 3-3 within less than a minute on the clock. 

Zushen made the last scoring move to win the bout as it remained 3-3. Then Deepak went for the Chinese wrestler's leg in the last 30 seconds and scored with a touchdown and won the bout. Deepak Punia had defeated Ekerekeme Agiomor of Nigeria to move into the quarter-final.
