Indian Premier League's (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), has always stood up for a cause. The team is often known to wear a green jersey to support environmental causes once in every season. But this time, the team is not donning the green jersey in the IPL instead, they are going to wear a blue jersey to show the support for COVID-19 frontline workers.

The team announced the same through their official Instagram handle, saying, "United to help and support the frontline warriors who have worked selflessly and tirelessly to fight the Covid Pandemic. ???????????????? We are #1Team1Fight! ????????#PlayBold #WeAreChallengers #IPL2021 #KKRvRCB."

RCB will resume its IPL 2021 campaign against Kolkata Knight Rider (KKR) on September 20 held in Abu Dhabi, and in that match, they will wear the blue jersey. The team had announced in May that they are going to wear the blue jersey to honour the frontline workers. But due to positive COVID-19 cases on the bio-bubble, the IPL was suspended. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shifted the remainder of the season to UAE from September 19 - October 15.

Currently, RCB is at the third spot with five wins from seven matches, and they would want to win this match against KKR to reach the play-offs. Chennai Super Kings is on the second spot of the points tally with 10 points and, Delhi Capitals is at the top of the table with 12 points.
