World Athletics U-20 Championship: Indian quartet wins Bronze in 4x400m relay race

Priya Mohan, Kapil, Bharat S, and Summy secured a bronze medal in World Athletics U-20 Championship they finished the race at 3:20.60 seconds and ended up third in the final.

The Indian mixed 4x400m relay team consisting of Priya Mohan, Kapil, Bharat S, and Summy secured a bronze medal in World Athletics U-20 Championship. They finished the race at 3:20.60 seconds and ended up third in the final. Nigeria won the gold medal again by finishing at 3:19.70. Poland won silver by finishing at 3:19.80 seconds.

Indian team entered the finals in the first heat with the overall best score but, the Nigerian team broke their record in heat 2. Nigeria broke India's record of 3:26.36 seconds with 3:21.66 seconds. Bharat S replaced Abdul Razzaq in the final due to some changes. The Bronze is India's fifth medal in the history of the World Athletics U-20 Championship.

In the past, India got a gold medal through Hima Das for 400m in 2018, a gold through Neeraj Chopra for javelin throw in 2016, a bronze through Navjeet Kaur Dhillon for discus throw in 2014, and again a bronze through Seema Antil for discus throw in 2002. Players who qualified for the finals are Priya in 400m, Amandeep Singh Dhaliwal in the shot put Kunwer Ajai Singh, and Jay Kumar in Javelin throw.
