Amazon launches Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition: price, features

The new Kindle Paperwhite will cost in India at Rs 13,999 and Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is worth Rs. 17,999.

A piece of good news for people who loves to read books online, Amazon has launched its next-generation Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Paperwhite Signature edition. The new Kindle features a larger 6.8-inch display and USB Type-C charging. The new e-reader houses a storage space of 32GB and has an auto-adjusting light sensor. 

Amazon is hosting an event on 28 September, where it is expected to reveal its new Echo devices and services. The new Kindle Paperwhite will cost in India at Rs 13,999 and Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is worth Rs. 17,999. They will be available in black colour option. The Kindle will be available for pre-order from today through Amazon.in. The customers who pre-order the new Kindle Paperwhite models will be entitled to receive Kindle credits of Rs 500, which can be further used to purchase eBooks at up to 80 percent of the book price.

The specification of the new Kindle Paperwhite consists of 6.8-inch glare-free display that is 0.8-inch larger than the 6-inch screen. The Kindle's display also feature smaller 10mm bezels along with a flush-front design. The Paperwhite will have the same 300ppi count that is available on the previous model. Though, the company has claimed about the improved display with additional 10 percent brightness at the maximum setting which provides a comfortable experience. It also has the adjustable warm light and white-on-black mode which lets the readers read the book in day and night according to their preferences.
