Apple's new Find My Ability feature will help you find your AirPods
Apple has added a new feature Find My Ability in Apple's AirPods Pro and AirPods Max which will help you find your AirPods.
Apple has announced new features for AirPods with iOS 15. The best thing about the new feature is that they have added Find My Ability and it is featured in Apple's AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. It will make sure that you don't lose it. The user will be able to find it through precision finding. The iOS will link the device with the user's Apple id. Since the devices are linked they will be easy to locate. The iOS will use BlueTooth to locate the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, which will give the precise location. The feature is similar to one with Apple AirTags.
The lost AirPods continue to send location to the owner through the internal hint codes of iOS 15. It will send the location through Find My Network even if someone else connects to the device. The AirPods will not have an activation lock just like the iOS devices despite being connected to an Apple Id. The system will be the same as Apple AirTags which is also connected to Apple id but can be reset manually with a few steps.
Steps to remove AirPods from Find my Device are, for AirPods Max, you can hold the noise cancellation button along with the digital crown for nearly 2 seconds, and it will unpair. For AirPods Pro, one needs to keep their fingers on the speakers' holes, along with pressing the stems button multiple times. The generations that will not be compatible with these features are the first and second generations. When rolled out this feature will be pushed to AirPods Pro and AirPods Max through a firmware update.
