Google Pay to allow users in US to transfer money to India and Singapore
For the smooth functioning of this service, Google Pay has tied up with two international money transfer companies -Western Union and Wise.
On Tuesday, Google's official money transfer application Google Pay has announced that US users will now be able to transfer money to those in India and Singapore.
For the smooth functioning of this service, Google Pay has tied up with two international money transfer companies -Western Union and Wise. In its blog, Google said, "By the end of the year, we expect that US Google Pay users will be able to send money to people in more than 200 countries and territories through Western Union and to more than 80 countries through Wise".
Here's how you can send the money:
- Select the Google Pay user you want to send money to
- Click on 'Pay' and then choose either Western Union or Wise
- Fill in the details and complete the payment.
Furthermore, the blog read that Western Union will offer unlimited free transfers till 16 June 2021 while sending money through Google Pay. Whereas, Wise is going to make the first transfer free for new customers on transaction up to $500.
The tech giant stated that they have added this feature to make the process of sending money abroad more convenient.
The blog also mentioned that sending money back to the home countries is a regular activity and they wanted to make it easy by adding it to the app so that you users can use it for their everyday money tasks. With Western Union and Wise now coming on board with Google it will easy for the US users able to transfer money to their families abroad in a reliable way.
