Qualcomm to join hands with Asus to launch its first-ever gaming smartphone

Qualcomm has partnered with Taiwanese company Asus to introduce its first-ever gaming device by the end of 2020.

Qualcomm has joined hands with Asus to develop its gaming smartphone. The Global chipset making giant is all set to host an online event on December 1st and 2nd to launch its high-end processor- Snapdragon 875.  Along with this, they are also going to launch Qualcomm's first-ever gaming smartphone. 

As per reports, Qualcomm has partnered with Taiwanese company Asus to introduce its first-ever gaming device by the end of 2020. However, other details regarding the gaming phone are still under wraps. Asus would make the major elements of the gaming smartphone as Qualcomm already makes reference design boards. 


For those uninitiated, Qualcomm already makes reference design boards to test its chipsets. Considering the partnership, the upcoming gaming phone is likely to have Asus' Republic of Gamers branding. While Qualcomm will look after the 'industry' design, Asus can take care of the hardware section. It is also said that the smartphone will have a high rate display and the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 processor. 

Meanwhile, the upcoming Qualcomm chipset is based on a 5nm process tech and is expected to use the new Cortex-X1 core. 

Earlier in September, the chipmakers had launched Snapdragon 732G mobile platform which was a follow-on to the Snapdragon 730G processor.
