Facebook-owned messaging application WhatsApp had last year introduced messages disappearing feature, which automatically removed messages after seven days if enabled by a user. Now, as per the latest update, it is being said that the makers of the instant messaging app are testing a 24 hours option for disappearing messages on Android, iOS, and the web.

With this feature, WhatsApp will compete with competitive apps like Telegram that give users multiple options of selection. The upcoming feature was reported by WABetaInfo, a website that keeps tracking WhatsApp updates. The report in WABetaInfo said that WhatsApp the 24 hours option will be an add on option for users. WABetaInfo has also shared a screenshot where the 24 hours option is shown.

The app earlier let only the admins control disappearing messages in groups. However, recently the app was updated for iOS and it allowed all participants in a group to change the Disappearing Messages setting by default.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also testing the ability to bring disappearing photos to feature to both Android and iOS platforms.
