Recently, while surfing social media we came across a heart touching video of a 98-year-old man, Vijay Pal Singh from Uttar Pradesh, who sells chana chaat on the streets to earn his living and stay self-reliant instead of being dependent on others.

In a viral video, the old man who hails from Raebareli was seen preparing and selling chana chaat. When a customer asks him for the reason for working at his age. To which Vijay Pal Singh said it’s not a necessity. He works to stay fit as he can’t sit idle at home. 

He was also awarded by the UP government for being self-reliant. Reportedly, the government invited him to the District Magistrate’s office and awarded him with ₹11,000 in cash, a walking stick, a shawl and a ration card.
