People are becoming more and more aware and sensitive towards the issues faced by the various kinds of differently-abled people. India is doing its bit to make life easy for the people belonging to the deaf community who use sign language to communicate. Earlier this month, Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, launched the Indian Sign Language Dictionary. After looking into the dictionary, it is understood that the dictionary has a Bollywood connection.
The Indian Sign Language dictionary has around 10,000 words, and, believe us, one of the words from the dictionary describes Shah Rukh Khan. After knowing this fact, you must have imagined that the sign defining Khan must be his signature pose he does by spreading his hands. But that is not right, one can describe Shah Rukh by holding the fingers of your right hand like a gun and tapping it above your heart twice. The dictionary is released by the Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre and, it is in the form of a DVD and a bulky print version consisting of words and their corresponding signs. Previously, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and others have been a part of the earlier versions of the sign language dictionary.
