Two decades ago, a Bhayandar resident who had moved to Europe has come forward to assist his mother country India amid the critical times. Rasiklal Surti and son Vipul have arranged for 1,400 litres of oxygen for a hospital in Mira-Bhayander. The father-son duo plan to help further by starting a kitchen to provide free food to the needy.

Surti moved to Gibraltar which is situated near the Spain border 20 years back and Vipul joined him eight years ago. They run a food business there. However, they are in touch with their friends here in Bhayander, Mumbai. Rasiklal started the Ruthful Foundation to help those hit by the pandemic.

While talking to Midday the president of 'Ziddi Maratha Pratishthan' Pradeep Jangan said that Vipul is in touch with us and takes updates about the pandemic. Last year too Vipul helped the needy by supplying groceries. This year when he saw that there was a shortage of oxygen here he immediately contacted Hanuman Mitra Mandal's president Suyog Borkar and Jay Bhawani Mitra Mandal’s Amit More and asked them to arrange for the oxygen and Rasiklal paid for it. On Sunday they gave 1,400 litres of oxygen which is 30 jumbo cylinders to Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Hospital in the presence of MBMC commissioner Dilip Dhole.

Rasiklal's son Vipul quoted to the tabloid that he and his family stay along the Spain border at Gibraltar. But sometime back his wife and two kids returned to Bhayander, Mumbai and are staying there because of the pandemic.

Through the Ruthfull Foundation the father and son are helping people in Mumbai and Gujarat.
