Johnson and Johnson's Covid-19 vaccine gets confirmation for emergency use in India

Johnson and Johnson's single-dose vaccination for the Covid-19 got approval for emergency use in India.

The single-dose vaccination developed by Johnson and Johnson for the Covid-19 got approval for emergency use in India. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union health minister, on Saturday (August 8), "India expands its vaccine basket! Johnson and Johnson’s single-dose COVID-19 vaccine is given approval for Emergency Use in India. Now India has 5 EUA vaccines. This will further boost our nation's collective fight against #COVID19" he mentioned in the tweet.

The company applied for the approval of its vaccine on August 7. It will be available in India via a supply agreement with the homegrown vaccine maker Biological E Ltd.  

The Indian health authorities, till now have approved the vaccines developed by AstraZeneca, Russia's Gamaleya Institute, Bharat Biotech, and Moderna. Johnson and Johnson is looking forward to accelerating the availability of its Covid-19 vaccine.
