Maharashtra government eases Covid-19 restrictions in Mumbai and 24 other states
Amidst a decline in new coronavirus cases, relaxation will be given in the functioning of shops, theaters, cinema halls, and gyms.
On Thursday, the Maharashtra government relaxed Covid-19 related restrictions in Mumbai and the other 24 districts of the state, announced Health Minister Rajesh Tope. Amidst a decline in new coronavirus cases, relaxation will be given in the functioning of shops, theaters, cinema halls, and gyms. Hotels and shop timings will increase till 8-9 pm with staff fully vaccinated.
Also, there is a change in weekends lockdown where places will be open on Saturdays following the limitations of the Covid-19 pandemic guidelines. Sunday's restrictions will remain the same. The detailed guidelines will be available in the next two to three days, the Minister added.
Health Minister Rajesh Tope also mentioned, "restrictions will continue for wedding function and any such gathering, and also we would discourage using an air-conditioned hall." Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray administered a meeting via video conference on 29th July to assess the current coronavirus situation across the state.
