Maharashtra government extends timing of shops, restaurants; amusement parks to reopen from 22 October

The Maha CM has directed officials to prepare guidelines for extending the operational hours for restaurants and shops. He also instructed the Public Health Department to coordinate with the centre on the availability of vaccines for children.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has decided to open amusement parks from 22 October after a meeting with the Covid task force. Further easing the COVID-19 restrictions, the government has decided to extend the timings of restaurants and shops. 

In a statement, CM Thackeray mentioned that they are slowly relaxing the restrictions and the number of patients seems to be decreasing. They are also reopening cinemas and theatres from 22 October. Also, there was a constant demand to extend the working hours of restaurants and shops.Rides (except water rides) in the open space in amusement parks are also permitted to function.

He also stated that although the second wave of the pandemic has subsided, the danger of a third wave is still there. Therefore, the COVID-19 protocols- wearing masks, using sanitisers and keeping a safe distance must be followed.
