Mumbai local to resume for fully vaccinated people from August 15
Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray announced that Mumbai local trains will resume from August 15 for fully vaccinated people.
Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray addressed the state through Facebook live on August 8, announced that Mumbai local trains will resume from August 15 for those who are fully vaccinated. Currently, the local trains service is available to only essential service workers.
While addressing the state on Facebook live CM Uddhav Thackeray said, "Local trains in Mumbai will start from August 15 for those who have been vaccinated with both the shots. We will launch an app where people can update if they have taken both doses and when they took their second dose. People can take passes either from the app or from the offices."

From August 15th, fully vaccinated citizens with 14 days gap after the second dose will be able to board the Mumbai local
The travel pass will be available for the passengers through an app, and people who don't own a smartphone can take photo passes from municipal ward offices in the city or from suburban railway stations. The travel pass will contain a QR code to verify the authenticity.

As there is a risk of the third wave, Mr. Thackeray has urged people to follow the pandemic guidelines and get both the vaccination for boarding the train.
