Amidst the state of despair and suffering, a Mumbai man named Shahnawaz Sheikh showed up as a ray of hope for the Covid patients who are undergoing oxygen saturation.

The story of Malad resident is going viral on the internet. He is also known as the 'oxygen man' in his area. According to reports in the media, Sheikh has been relentlessly working to provide oxygen cylinder to the patients. He has been doing this since last year. He even sold his SUV Ford Endeavor worth Rs 22 lakh to help the sufferers in his area. He managed to secure as many as 160 oxygen cylinders. 

While talking to a leading news portal, Shahnawaz said he commenced working as an oxygen supplier after his friend's wife died in an auto last year due to the lack of oxygen. He decided to start a helpline to help the COVID-19 patients. He and his team have reportedly helped more than 4000 people till now.

Meanwhile, the second wave of Coronavirus has created a severe situation in India. On Thursday, the country has reported the world's highest single-day spike with over 3.14 lakh cases.
