Tata Steel to hire transgenders for machinery job

The job hiring criteria is, one should have passed Matriculation and must be born between September 1, 1981, and September 1, 2003.

Tata Steel has made a unique step to hire only transgenders for the role of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery operators (trainee) in its West Bokaro Division at Jharkhand. The steel giant company has only sought applications from transgenders (including the LGBTQ+ community). 

The job hiring criteria is, one should have passed Matriculation and must be born between September 1, 1981, and September 1, 2003. The candidate will undergo a medical examination and have three rounds for the selection, a written test, interview, and practical orientation test. Tata Steel was well known for hiring applicants from the LGBTQ community and was named Top Employer in 2020. The India Workplace Equality Index (IWEI) is India's first comprehensive benchmarking tool that is enabling efforts for LGBT+ inclusion. 

The IWEI Top Employers list features 52 organisations that are recognised under the category of 'bronze,' silver,' and 'gold' which depends on the final score. The company who participate in this index makes it clear that they support equality for LGBT+ people at work.
